 How to arrive in Eger

Airport:  The closest airport is Budapest Ferihegy Airport, 130 km from Eger.

Persons who need transport from airport to Eger and back, must contact the organizer (Mr. Zoltan Kósa-Szánthó, Email: zoltan.kosa.szantho@gmail.com ). Transport from Budapest airport to Eger (and return) it is 30 euro/person, if you announce your arrival till 15 March 2013.
After this date, the cost can be more expensive: 50 euro/person.

 

Train: Should you travel on the train from Budapest, you can choose from 4 express trains and an InterCity train of Hungarian State Railways (InterCity requires seat reservation, fee: 250HUF/person). There are some other opportunities if you change train in Füzesabony.

Exchange rate: 1Euro = 275 HUF (approximate as of Jan 09)

Car or bus: If you travel by car or bus from Budapest there are two highways: Highway 25 (Kerecsend-Ózd), and Highway 24 (Gyöngyös-Recsk-Eger).

From the M3 Motorway you will cross Füzesabony and Maklár, or on Highway 25 you will cross Kerecsend.

Parking opportunities for buses and cars: There is free parking on Hadnagy street next to the sport hall. Hotels also have parking places but spaces are limited.

Parking opportunities in the city: Ady Endre Street. Parking fee is 250HUF / hour, 900HUF / 12 hours or 1600HUF / day. The bus station is in Barkóczy Street. There are a few parking places in town, with fees of 250HUF / hour. You should buy your parking ticket at the automats placed in the parking places. Cars parked illegally may be fined. The historical downtown is only open for pedestrians.

 

 

Awards

Awards for the European championship will be diplomas for all competitors.

In individual kata events, awards will be diplomas and trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

In kumité events (individual and team), awards will be diplomas and trophy for 1st, 2nd and 2 x 3rd places

the team events awards will also include medals for team members.

 

Competition fees

Each individual event: 20€ per person

Each team event: 45€ for team

 

Accommodation

Hotel Eger ****(400 persons) (45 Euro/ person/day, with breakfast)

Hotel Flora ***(200 persons) (35 Euro/ person/day, with breakfast)

Hotel Minaret** (100 persons) (25 Euro/ person/day, with breakfast)

More Hotel in Eger * or ** category (20-25 Euro/ person/day, with breakfast)

 

Students Campus lodging is available for 600 persons for 10 Euros/day (4 persons/room, toilets and showers on the hall) with breakfast.

 

The prices on the hotel web pages are different from the above price because they are still the 2012 prices. The prices also differ between hotels. We calculated an average price so everyone has to pay the same. Some of the rooms will have extra beds. This was the only way we could negotiate the current price.

Hotels are not far away from the Sport Hall Acropolis. The longest route is max. 5 -15 minutes by foot.

Referees registered by Sensei Colin Putt will have free accommodation, and they will stay with their teams. If they are on their own, they need to book hotel reservation by themselves.  

SKDUN and the organizer will support the cost of accommodation only for the referees nominate by Sensei Colin Putt (maximum 3days x 25 Euro/day, Total = 75 Euro)

 

Meals

During the competition, in Sport Hall, meal for competitors will be provided by different catering companies so you can choose meal and cost.

All the members of the executive committee and referees named by Colin Putt are free of charge for any meals at the place of competition.

Competition only for advanced belts, 3 kyu – Dan, (brown belt + black belt)

 

 

KATA INDIVIDUAL

CHILDRENS (10 – 11 years): Boys / Girls

MINICADETS (12 – 13 years): Boys / Girls

CADETS (14 – 15 years): Boys / Girls

JUNIORS (16 – 17 years): Boys / Girls

YOUTHS (18 – 20 years): Men / Women

SENIORS (21 – 39 years): Men / Women

VETERANS (over 40 years): Men – Veterans can also participate in Seniors events

 

Kata rules for the group 3 Kyu – Dan: By point system.(elimination rounds and final rounds).

The competitors of each category will compete in the first elimination round down to 16 competitors (two competitors at the same time, AKA / SHIRO).

On the second elimination round the competitors will compete from 16 competitors down to the final 8 competitors (two competitors at the same time, AKA / SHIRO).

Childrens and Minicadets groups will perform in the first and second elimination rounds Sentei kata: Bassai Dai and in the final 8, they can perform Tokui kata (free choice), for the final places.

Cadets, Juniors, Youths, Seniors and Veterans groups will perform in the first and second elimination rounds Sentei kata: Bassai Dai, Enpi, Jion (referee choice) and in the final 8, they can perform Tokui kata (free choice), for the final places.

The only categories that will compete from 8 to the final 4 will be Seniors.

In case of a draw, they must perform a different kata than in the previous rounds.

Limit of participation: Max of 6 competitors per country per category.

In Preliminary rounds: Free kata (Tokui) In the Final Round (4 Teams): different Kata than in the preliminary rounds. In the case of a draw, they must perform a different kata than performed in any other round.

Limit of participation: Max of 2 teams per country are accepted in each category.

For all age groups the competition is run on Ippon Shobu (2 wazari or 1 Ippon).

The time for each match: 1 minute for children’s, 1 minute and 30 second for cadet and juniors, 2 minutes for youths, seniors and veterans.

Limit of participation: 6 competitors per country are accepted in each individual kumite category.

 

Sunday, April 7, there will be a competition for MASTER (Men and Women, over 18 years old), with only one competitor per country, designate on Saturday evening to compete in both events: kata and kumite.

(the kumite team can include 5/4 kyu, but must include at least 3 advanced grades - brown or black belt - out of a 5 person team or 2 advanced grades out of a 3 person team)

Kata rules: By point system. Only one preliminary round, with kata chosen by the referee.

Two competitors at the same time (AKA / SHIRO) the best 8 scoring competitors pass to the final round.

Final round (by point system) – Free (Tokui) kata.

 

Elimination Kata for the group 9-7 kyu between Taikyoku Shodan and Heian Shodan; Tokui Kata: for group 9-7 kyu between Taikyoku Shodan and Heian Sandan;

In the case of a draw they can repeat kata.

Elimination Kata for group 6-4 kyu between Heian Shodan, Heian Nidan and Heian Sandan. Tokui Kata: for group 6-4 kyu between Heian Shodan and Tekki Shodan (no other kata are allowed).

In the case of a draw they must perform a different kata.

No limit of participation.
